EntreLinhas

Reading Club

EntreLinhas Reading Club is based on the relationship between literature and journalism, and it highlights the idea that art, in this case literature, exists in the world and from the world. Books and information are metaphors of the memory of humanity and, as R. Ranganathan would say in relation to books and libraries, both facilitate “Meeting of Minds”. We must focus on minds, on interaction with people, free sharing and creation of knowledge, and initiate change.

Books serve as a springboard for a reflection about the world and the reading experience, crossing the discussion with pressing current issues.

The goals of the Reading Club are: 1) to develop critical reading and analysis skills; 2) to promote reflective discussions about contemporary issues; 3) to strengthen sense of community among club members; and 4) to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

How it works

Thematic sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes, on a date, time, and location to be scheduled. Usually with the participation of special guests.

EntreLinhas is open to the entire community of ESCS-IPL, as well as to everyone who wants to participate.
