Circular economy comes to life at ESCS Bootcamp

On February 26, ESCS hosted the third edition of the Circular Economy Bootcamp – A different journey to get ahead.

The initiative brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and company representatives to reflect on sustainability, promote critical thinking, encourage the creation of solutions based on circular economy principles, and develop innovative ideas.

The day began with a series of talks focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Challenges related to sustainability were also presented by real companies, such as Delta and Matchpoint. These challenges formed a pool of ideas that students could explore alongside their own concerns.

The afternoon began with a concert by EcoLab, a project from the Mixed Music Laboratory course unit at the Lisbon School of Music, also part of IPL.

Later in the afternoon, participants were invited to move from reflection to action by working on the development of circular business proposals, with the support of specialized mentors.

The day concluded with a pitch session during which teams shared the projects and solutions they had developed.

The Bootcamp was organized by ESCS, in partnership with the ESCS Student Association, student groups, the ESCS Eco-Schools Council, and Matchpointeam, with additional support from the UNESCO Chair of Communication, Media and Information Literacy and Citizenship.
